Doug Millar has 20 years experience in the natural products industry. His background spans from organic agriculture to retail health-food management, and for the last 8 years he has held positions of increasing responsibility within Solgar. Doug is currently Director of Product Development and Nutrition. Additionally, he manages a team of nutrition experts who field product inquiries from consumers, retailers and healthcare professionals. Doug holds a BA from Rutgers University, having graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Magna cum laude. He is currently an MS candidate in Human Nutrition.
Richard A. Passwater, Ph.D. has been directing research for Solgar since 1977. He has written more than 45 books and over 500 articles on nutrition. His laboratory research led to his discovery of biological antioxidant synergism in 1962 that has been the focus of his research and patents ever since. Dr. Passwater's research with selenium and other antioxidant nutrients has led to a series of patents relating to free radical pathology and health. In 1975, his best-selling book "Supernutrition: Megavitamin Revolution" was credited with popularizing megavitamin therapy. Among his awards are 1999 NNFA President's Award and 2008 SE NPA President's Award.
Mike Shuck's natural products industry experience spans 35 years beginning with his roots as a part time employee in a small health food store in Indiana while pursuing a college degree in Psychology at Indiana/Purdue University in Indianapolis. His diverse industry background includes field sales, regional sales management, product management and over 15 years as Vice President of Domestic Sales at Solgar. Mike began his career at Solgar in 1988. He currently oversees a team of 35 sales representatives and develops strategic sales plans for the company.
Dana Tarello has more than a decade of experience in the natural products industry. She started at Solgar in 1997 and has held various positions within the company. As Solgar's Vice President of Marketing, Dana manages domestic marketing, branding, and new product launch efforts. She holds an undergraduate degree in marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an MBA in marketing with a certificate in international business from Iona College in New York.
